Life in the Civil War by Sara

I chose this topic because I have always been interested in how people live back then. Life today is so much easier than it was back then and my project wasn't just about battlefield life. It was about back at home and how hard it was for them. One thing to remember is not to get the Confederate and Union flags mixed up. For my next project, I would like to study about presidents of the US because it is really cool to see how they have changed over time.

Carolina Tarheels by Luke

I chose this project because I have liked UNC all my life and I think they are the best team ever. My project took a really long time with everything I had to do. The 3D model took 8 hours and the board another 2 hours. So it is really important to not wait until that last second to do it. I learned about how the basketball team started at Carolina. I might like to study about snakes because I think they look really cool and would be interesting to learn about.

Greek Mythology by Spencer

I chose Greek mythology for my topic because I wanted to learn about new thing. I was interested in it before but I thought my project would help me learn more. I found a lot of interesting facts to tell people about. I made a 3D model of a chariot and had a friend of my sister to dress up as Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war. I learned a lot about Greece's past and a little about the present. I would like to study about wolves because they are very interesting animals.

South Dakota by Kendall

I chose this topic because I took a trip there this past summer and I really enjoyed it. I made Mount Rushmore for my 3D model. With my Grandmother's help, I made a scrapbook. In interviewed the lady that was the instructor of our trip. One thing I learned was that the same person who is building Crazy Horse helped build Mount Rushmore. I think it would be cool to learn about fish and sea animals for my next project.

Guinea Pigs by Sadie

I selected this topic because I thought it would be a fun project to do, and I have a guinea pig as a pet also. I made a 3D model of a guinea pig cage. Most of my information came from books I read. My interview with Dr. Anason took place in Virginia. I learned that you can not wait until the last minute to finish and do it throughout the year. I want to study the poison dart frog next year.

Carolina Panthers by Will

I chose the topic of the Carolina Panthers because my family got season tickets and the Panthers are my favorite team. With my project, I made a Panther football field, the tunnel, a biography of DeAngelo Williams, an interview of Sir Purr, a Carolina Panther timeline, statistics from 2010-2011, futuristic jerseys, Panther powerpoint, and a scrapbook about the stuff I got at the game. All this stuff I got and made are very cool and I hope you can see it in person. One thing I learned is don't believe its true until you know it is true. I would like to study about the structure of the Panther's stadium.

Fort Macon by Jackson

I chose this topic because I have always enjoyed going there and seeing the inside of the fort. I made a 3d model of the fort out of sand, vinyl siding and Popsicle sticks. My board was more focused around the history of the fort. I have pictures of Union soldiers and Confederate soldiers. I have a Venn-diagram of the differences of the Civil War and World War II. I learned that this was North Carolina's first fully functioning state park. I want to study about the Outer Banks for my next project.
